The meeting with Hodir.

The night started off interestingly. We to multiple attempts to down Bridge Dude and one shot Crazy Cat Lady. I think our strategy which was close to what we had before plus a few key changes made it possible for the fairly easy kill.

It really lifted our spirits after the brief trouble we had with Kologarn. While one of our fastest kills for him at four minutes twenty six seconds, it was far from pretty.

After that we made our way to the frozen caves of Hordir. While we didn't down him we've gotten some really good attempts in and gotten him down to about 50% I predict next week will will log our first kill of him and possibly other keepers as well.

Instead of one final attempt at Hodir we ran over and went to beat up on our old pal Emalon. We had a bit of trouble this week and wiped a fair bit. Then we finally downed him....Ok I was the last one left alive and I hit last stand and shield wall together then ignored the 4 adds on me and did my best to burn down the last 25k health he had. Suddenly it all stopped. I was expecting to see the you are dead please click to release your spirit button. I was greeted with the giant sparkling carcass of Emelon's demise. I got T8 pants out of the deal so I was very pleased with the end of the night.

Authentication Breakdown

So last night we had an auth server issue that prevented a good number of our normal raid from join in the fun. We got a massively late start bit in spite of that we had a fairly good group. We one shot our normal 3 bosses. We had 0 deaths on Razorscale,Flame Leviathan and XT-002. We did get a new record kill on Whiny Pants, four minutes twenty nine seconds. That's the only kill time I was able to track. I have a new keyboard that Windows isn't exactly familiar with so screen shots for easy data capture are out. We did two shot Ignis, and three shot Iron Council. As I commented last week we are getting much better on these fights. I think we are really close to getting these on one shot status very soon. Tonight we finish will down bridge guy and crazy cat lady will fall. After that I think our next focus is Hodir. T8 Chest Tokens will be very helpful to most of the raid. I know the article is a tad on the short side this week but so far that's all there is to report. I think we made really good progress considering the really late start and subs early on.

The Fall of the Iron Council

The picture above is a very happy moment for us. We downed the Iron Council. It took some sorting out but we have done it. I could got into all the wonderful details about how it happened and what our rewards for their fall was, but another story needs to be covered first.

Tonight we one shot Kologarn. I am very happy with this as last week it took us about four or five attempts to take him out. It wasn't our prettiest boss kill, but it was a one shot none the less. According to Deadly Boss Mods this was our fastest kill ever at four minutes and fifty seven seconds. We were graced with Shawl of Shattered Giant and Sabatons of the Iron Watcher. Dakliron was very happy to get his cloak upgraded and Xenith was rather greatful for the boots.

Then dispite our rather late start we were able to take down the Council. I keep talking about how we finally killed them. We've made many short attempts at this treo for a couple of weeks now not having much time to spend on them. This week we moved Atrotheta back to Steelbreaker as he puts down considerable amounts of Nature damage and as a warrior there's not a lot I can do to mitigate that. I took Runemaster Molgeim and Stormcaller Brundir to the back and kept them at bay till we finally brought down the iron giant. After that it was a matter of seeing what the Runmaster was capable of after the loss of Steelbreaker and we had this fight. This is a fight I expect to work through very quickly next week. I think now that we know what it takes and where to be to pull this off I think our first one shot on this isn't more than a few weeks away. We kill the Assembley of Iron and we got weapons, how fitting. Stormtip Found a very happy home with our resident Boomkin Rochas and Rune-Etched Nightblade went to our Rogueish friend.

Inspite of our late start last night I feel really good about the week. We downed 6 of the 13 bosses this place has to offer. We have a new one shot on a boss and we are getting closer to dealing with the horror that has broken free. Next week I forsee us making a lot of progress and hopefully taking down some of the Keepers that have yet to be encountered.

Emalon and The Siege of Ulduar

Welcome back to another round of raiding. This week we had Winter Grasp and downed Emalon. I didn't get a screen shot of the kill but it was our first one shot this week. I am proud of that fact. Our resident Warlock Akashaumd saw some love in the form of our second usable Tier 8 drop from this boss. I am sure those gloves will be broken in very soon.

The we moved on to the "Main Event". We stepped in made very short work of the trash and all the towers save blue this week. We thought it was the lightening one we tried for last week but turned out to leave us feeling cold and sometimes down right frozen. Our best attempt was 12% which is much better than all the evils minions popping up with the green from last week. In the interest of time and getting a good momentum to get further into this vast new world we downed the tower and one shot the mechanical monstrosity.

This week I actually managed to capture a screen shot of us standing over the hulking wreck, kindly hanging out over this post. This week I am remembering to capture loot tables so people not yet able to venture in here might discover the secrets this place holds. This week old FL graced us with Firesoul and Flamewatch Armguards. These are pretty nice upgrades for our group as a whole. I have had a pair of the bracers a few weeksn now and really like them so far.

Now that we have access to the rest of the Siege wing we stepped up to Razorscale. Pretty straight forward for us these days. Our second one shot or possibly third, I've lost track at this point. We had a kill time of seven minutes and forty two seconds. This is the first time I've remembered to track kill times so I am hoping to remember this more and see if I can find a way to collect a chart else where out here. Her downfall offered us Eye of the Broodmother which seems truly awesome for almost every caster in the raid, read most of the raid. She also gave us Bracers of the Smothering Inferno . These had dropped before at least once and I'm not sure if anyone has claimed them or they've been shuffled to the bank.

Half the Seige wing down it was time to head to the Furnace Master for our second week. It still took a bit of work to bring him down which is to be expected this being last week was our first time encountering this boss. He went down in what I think were fewer attempts than last week. We down him in seven minutes and fity four seconds. I think next week he'll go down a lot faster than this week which is just fine with me. Ignis gave us the really interesting cloak Drape of Fuming Anger Which dropped last week and is a really strong upgrade for Fury warriorss with the changes to Improved Bezerker Rage. We also got Gloves of Smoldering Touch Which looks pretty good to me but I don't follow Rogues and Feral Druids that closely.

Lastly we moved on to the gatekeeper of the rest of Ulduar Xt-002 Deconstructor. This fight is gettting really easy for us. I kinda miss the fight pre nerf. We downed him then not sure why they toned it down. At any rate another one shot for our band of adventurers I spaced and forgot to grab the kill time on him. We got another Plasma Foil more DPS Caster love, got to love Crit and Spellpower. We also saw Treacherous Shoulderpads which is good for a rogue and feral druid.

That's where we called it for the night. We took down a fairly new boss, and nearly got our first hard mode kill, so I'd say it was a really good night. Tonight we will be facing the Antechamber of Ulduar. We will be testing our metal against Assembly of Iron, Kologarn aka Bridge Dude, and Auriaya aka Crazy Cat Lady. With Emalon out of the way we are hoping to get grouped up and strait at them pretty early and make a lot of time to get at these guys and hopefully down them and a chance to look into the Keepers area for the first time. Once we can clear the Antechamber we are half way through Ulduar and I can't wait to see us do it and finally get into the last half and see what lurks there.

Ulduar

Ulduar, I will probably talk about this place a good bit. We have completed our third venture into halls of Ulduar. We successfully downed Flame Leviathan, Razorscale , XT-002 Deconstructor, Ignis the Furnace Master, and Kologarn. We 1 shot Razorscale and XT-002 aka Mr. Whiny Pants. We tried leaving the green tower up as an attempt at hard mode for Leviathen, but the adds weren't what we were expecting so in the interest of more progression we fell back to easy mode, down him and moved on.

This was our first week with Ignis, we had skipped him previously, and it took us a bit to get the hang of the fight. I am predicting we will take far less attempts next week. I am hoping we can get our full two nights in this upcoming week and take down the Council and Crazy Cat Lady and possibly beyond. In future posts I might start tracking loot drops and kill time records etc. The picture above is the Razorscale kill from this week. I will be building an album of kill shots over here. I have forgotten to get a kill shot from Flame Leviathan 3 weeks running. I will close with a shout out to my raiding group and it's leadership who do a wonderful job of herding us up and pushing us down the progression path.

Welcome

I am Lewelan a warrior of the Alliance on Feathermoon. I am the guild leader of the Bloody Tears guild. We are a small group of mostly real life friends that enjoy each others company and this is our WoW story.
